Biographical Information:
Erica Olson-Hensley is an accomplished educator with extensive experience in Secondary
Education, focusing on Humanities & Social Studies. She currently serves as the Assistant
Principal at Taos Academy, where she has been a teacher for several years. Originally from
Minnesota, she pursued her higher education at a liberal arts college, earning a double major in
Political Science and Secondary Education Social Studies.
Mrs. Olson-Hensley has a rich international teaching background, having spent a decade
abroad. She taught in Cairo, Egypt, and served as an international fellow in Benin, West Africa.
During her time in Cairo, she also played rugby for the Cairo Women's 7 Side internationally.
Her diverse teaching experience includes working with Chicago Public Schools and on the
Jicarilla-Apache Nation in Dulce, New Mexico.
Outside of her professional life, Erica enjoys the natural beauty of Taos, New Mexico, with her
family, which includes her husband, son, and Labrador Retriever. They are avid outdoor
enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and mountain biking.
I am in education to support students as they prepare for their future and to support our
community.
